What is a data point?

For odds, one data point is one returned price row: participant or outcome × line or value × affiliate/data source. V2 event snapshot responses also bill event, score, and live-state rows; the response headers are authoritative.

Estimate full-snapshot usage

Every successful snapshot bills its returned rows. Use this assumption-based comparison to size a narrow snapshot, choose a polling cadence, and avoid requesting rows your integration does not use.

Chip counts are illustrative assumptions, not league forecasts. Enter the event count from a representative filtered snapshot; schedules vary materially by date and season.

120
6500

This is not a market count. Set it from one representative response: when X-Datapoints-Breakdown is present, use its odds value ÷ returned events ÷ selected data sources. Otherwise count the returned price rows. This is an observed average; availability, props, alternate lines, and participant counts vary.

1 · event2 · + score3 · + live state

V2 event snapshot responses add one event datapoint per event, one score datapoint when a score is present, and one more score-category datapoint when live game state is present. Choose the payload you expect.

Recommended bootstrap

Safe main-line snapshot

For a two-sided event, moneyline, spread, and total produce six returned odds rows per event/source when every selected source has every price. Three-way markets return more; availability varies.

Production pattern: Starter and other delayed plans should poll narrow snapshots at the cadence their use case needs; do not seed a delta cursor from delayed body metadata. On zero-delay plans only, store X-Delta-Last-ID (with body metadata as an older zero-delay fallback), then poll /api/v2/markets/delta. Each changed price row costs one odds point. Confirm the billed total with X-Datapoints. X-Datapoints-Breakdown is optional and is not currently emitted by /api/v2/markets/delta.
*Quota fit is not feature eligibility: confirm that the tier also includes your selected data sources, live/prematch access, delay, history, and rate limit.
