Sports data API
Create an account from the quickstart with an email and password; your key appears in your account dashboard. The Free plan needs no credit card. It includes 20,000 data points per UTC day and up to 200,000 per UTC calendar month, pre-match odds from DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM, and data delayed by 5 minutes.
Send your key in the
X-TheRundown-Key request header. Keep it on your server, for example in a THERUNDOWN_API_KEY environment variable, and have browser code call your own backend. Browsers cannot attach the header to a WebSocket. The reference endpoints /api/v2/sports and /api/v2/affiliates work without a key.The full documentation is at docs.therundown.io: every endpoint, query parameter, response schema, and the WebSocket protocol, with an OpenAPI spec and code examples in cURL, Python, Node.js, and Go. For AI agents, the hosted data MCP server at
https://mcp.therundown.io/mcp uses your API key, and the documentation MCP at https://docs.therundown.io/mcp searches the docs. Build with AI covers setup.Free is $0. Paid plans are Starter $49, Pro $149, Ultra $399, Super $649, Mega $999, and Max $2,499 per month, and annual billing lowers the monthly rate. Every plan through Max is self-serve with no sales call; Enterprise is priced by contract. Compare plans.
Yes. Starter through Max can be billed weekly: Starter $13.56, Pro $41.26, Ultra $110.49, Super $179.72, Mega $276.64, and Max $692.03 per week, priced at a premium over monthly billing for short-term use. The data point allowance is a weekly share of the monthly allowance, applied to each 7-day window. New weekly subscriptions start with automatic overage billing, and you can edit the dollar cap in Spend Controls.
Yes, on Pro and every higher plan. You can display odds and values you derive from them, such as best prices, line movement, and implied probabilities, in your own app, including paid apps, with the attribution “Data provided by TheRundown”. Free and Starter are for internal business or personal use. For white-label or redistribution rights, contact us. See display rights and the Terms of Service.
25+ books. Sportsbooks: Pinnacle, HardRock, theScore Bet, FanDuel, BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars Sportsbook, Unibet, Bovada, Matchbook, BetOnline, LowVig, SportsBetting, Intertops, YouWager, BookMaker, BetCRIS, Circa Sports, Heritage Sports, and Bet105. Prediction markets and exchanges: Kalshi, Polymarket, Polymarket US, Novig, and ProphetX, priced in the same event, market, and price schema as sportsbooks. Paid plans include every book; Free includes DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM. Availability varies by source, sport, and market, and
/api/v2/affiliates returns the current roster with IDs. Guides: Pinnacle, Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM.23 leagues + 9 season variants, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, UFC/MMA, NCAA football and basketball, the top European soccer leagues, MLS, Liga MX, the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Cup, ATP and WTA tennis, and cricket. Preseason, playoffs, and other season variants have their own sport IDs, and
/api/v2/sports lists them all. Each league has its own markets, periods, and prop types.Yes, by plan. Player props and alternate lines: Starter and higher. Player and team stats for new accounts: Starter has completed-game box scores and season aggregates for the current season, Pro adds prior-season archives, and Ultra adds live box scores over REST and live stats over WebSocket. Play-by-play and live game state: Ultra and higher, for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, NCAA football and basketball, and soccer. Futures: in early access on Ultra and higher through
/api/v2/sports/{sport_id}/futures, with championship and tournament-winner boards for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, NCAA football and basketball, the EPL, golf, and Formula 1.Odds history by plan: Starter 7 days, Pro 30 days, Ultra 90 days, Super 6 months, Mega 1 year, Max unlimited, and Enterprise custom. Every price change, close, and reopen is timestamped, and Pro and higher plans add opening and closing lines. Free does not include odds history. Backtesting or validating models with the data needs our written permission.
Ultra, Super, Mega, and Max are real-time: no data delay, and odds updates are sub-second across every book. Lower plans have a set delay: Free 5 minutes, Starter 60 seconds, and Pro 30 seconds.
REST works on every plan; WebSocket push is included on Ultra and higher. Connect a server to
wss://therundown.io/api/v2/ws with your X-TheRundown-Key header and subscribe to markets, scores, plays, stats, futures, or live. Request snapshot: true, bounded by event_ids or sport_ids plus date, to receive snapshot frames, then snapshot_complete, then deltas. The /api/v2/ws/markets endpoint carries odds changes alone, one changed price row per market_price frame. Connections per account: Ultra 1 connection with 3 subscriptions each, Super 3 connections with 5 subscriptions each, Mega 5 connections with 10 subscriptions each, and Max 10 connections with 25 subscriptions each. Keep a REST baseline and refresh it after reconnecting. Read the WebSocket guide.Start with a narrow snapshot of the events and markets you need. On zero-delay plans, switch to
/api/v2/markets/delta and keep the cursor from each page so you fetch just the prices that changed. The Efficient Polling guide has the details.Yes. Team IDs are normalized and stay the same across seasons and endpoints, and each player keeps one ID everywhere in the API, from player props to box scores and play-by-play, season after season. Each game has one canonical
event_id to use in paths, filters, delta consumers, and cache keys, shared by its sportsbook and prediction market prices, so odds, scores, and stats join on the same IDs.V2 (
/api/v2/) is the normalized market schema: 550+ market types, from moneylines, spreads, and totals to player props, team totals, and futures, in one event, market, participant, line, and price structure for every book, with periods and live in-play markets where available. V1 is the legacy per-book format. It is still supported, but new features ship on V2, so build new integrations on V2. Use /api/v2/events/{event_id}/markets for event odds and /api/v2/markets for the market catalog. In V1, a price or line of
0.0001 is a sentinel: the value is not published or the line is off the board. Treat it as unavailable and show it as off or hide it. In V2, a closed price carries a closed_at timestamp and an open price omits closed_at. Add hide_closed=true to V2 snapshot requests to leave closed prices out. Each key has a requests-per-second limit and a data point allowance. Requests per second: Free 1, Starter 2, Pro 5, Ultra 10, Super 15, Mega 20, and Max 50; Enterprise is custom. A burst over the limit returns HTTP 429 with
Retry-After: 1. WebSocket messages do not count toward the request rate but are metered as data points. For odds, one data point is one returned price row: participant or outcome × line or value × sportsbook. Missing prices are not charged. A two-sided moneyline from one book is 2 points; six main-line moneyline, spread, and total rows from three books are up to 18. V2 event responses also count 2 points per returned event, plus 1 for each event carrying live game state. Every successful
200 snapshot bills the price rows it returns, even unchanged ones, and each delta row or WebSocket price message is one point. The X-Datapoints header is the billed total. Reference data (/sports, /affiliates, and /markets) is always free.Free stops at its daily and monthly caps: requests return 429 until the next UTC reset, with no charges. Monthly and annual paid plans start hard-capped, and overage stays off until you turn it on in Spend Controls, at a per-million rate of Starter $12.25, Pro $7.45, Ultra $4.99, Super $3.25, Mega $2.50, and Max $1.25. Turning it on without a saved dollar limit sets a cap of one subscription-period price. New weekly subscriptions start with overage on. Paid plans can also set a soft limit for an email alert. Your account dashboard shows usage, spend controls, and request logs from the last 90 days, and metered responses carry
X-Datapoints-Used and X-Datapoints-Remaining headers.Email [email protected] or use the contact page. Support is by email, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM EST. Ultra and Super include priority support and Max includes dedicated support. Most integration questions are answered in the docs at docs.therundown.io.
Odds screen
A live board that compares odds from 25+ books side by side across 23 leagues + 9 season variants, next to live scores: pregame and live odds, player props, and futures. Click any price to see its line movement. Sign in to use the board; this page shows a sample.
You can start free. A free account needs no credit card and shows one game per league with odds from BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings. The Basic and Pro plans unlock every game and the full sportsbook selection, with live odds, best lines, player props, futures, and odds history. Pro adds real-time updates, the expected value calculator, and arbitrage alerts. Every plan works on the web and in the app. See plans.
In Settings, choose and reorder the sportsbooks and leagues on your board, pick an odds format (US, decimal, fractional, Indonesian, Malay, or Hong Kong), and set the table density. You can turn on opening odds, implied probability, and the consensus line across your books, and track your picks in the bet tracker.
25+ books, including DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, HardRock, theScore Bet, Pinnacle, BookMaker, BetCRIS, Circa Sports, Heritage Sports, and Bet105, plus the prediction markets and exchanges Kalshi, Polymarket, Polymarket US, Novig, and ProphetX. Free accounts see BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings; Basic and Pro include every available book. Pick which books appear, and in what order, in Settings. Availability varies by source, sport, and market.
Yes, on Basic and Pro. The market selector opens Player Props, Game Props, Team Props, and Alternate Lines for supported sports. Futures has its own board of championship races: Basic shows full futures with slightly delayed prices, and Pro shows real-time prices with live movement charts. Golf tournament boards are on Pro.
On Pro, the board streams over WebSocket in real time, with updates in under a second. Basic refreshes on the polling interval you set in Settings, with prices delayed by 15 seconds, and free accounts have a longer delay.
With Best Lines on (Settings, on by default), a Best column shows the top price for each market with the book's logo, and the book holding it is marked in its row. Best prices compare sportsbooks; prediction markets and exchanges are left out. Best lines are part of Basic and Pro.
Yes. Click any price to open its odds history as a table or a Line Movement chart, with the move from open to current, the range, and the last move. History goes back 7 days on Basic and 30 days on Pro, and you can add an opening odds column to the board.
Yes, on Basic and Pro, and Pro streams them in real time. Live odds gathers today's games in progress, and the board shows a Live Now count when games are underway.
Yes. The odds screen is built on TheRundown's sports data API: 25+ books in one schema, over REST and WebSocket. API plans are separate from Basic and Pro, and a free API key needs no credit card. See the sports data API.
HedgeMaker and the app
Yes, TheRundown is on the App Store and Google Play, with odds, teams, HedgeMaker, a bet tracker, and futures. Your plan works on the web and in the app, and the app can send push notifications for settled picks, line movements, and opportunity alerts.
Use HedgeMaker. It finds arbitrage, +EV, and middles across supported sportsbooks and shows the stake sizes and calculated returns. HedgeMaker is a separate add-on: add it to a plan, or buy a day or week pass with no subscription.
HedgeMaker compares offered odds with a multi-book sharp consensus to identify prices with positive expected value. See HedgeMaker.
A middle pairs opposing lines that leave a score range where both bets win. HedgeMaker calculates the stakes and the result outside that range. See HedgeMaker.
A pass banked on your account starts when you activate it. Open HedgeMaker passes and choose Start this pass when you are ready. Your current pass must end before another can start. View HedgeMaker passes.
Open Bets, then Tracker. Use Pending, Settled, All, or Analytics to review your picks, and sort the list by Time or Amount.
Account and billing
In Account, open Request Logs and filter by time, method, status, category, or path. If you have multiple API keys, you can also filter by key. Logs cover the last 90 days. Open Request Logs.
Open the Billing tab in Account to update your payment method and view invoices. When available, an invoice link opens its PDF or hosted invoice page. Open Billing.
If your account shows Pause in Plans + Passes, you can schedule a pause for one, two, or three billing periods. It starts at the current period end, and the dashboard shows the resume date. For API plans, overage billing turns off as soon as you schedule the pause. Resuming early charges a full period that day. Open Plans + Passes.
